Why open or closed combs?:
The open comb allows the razor blade to be closer to the skin—the openings in the comb allow for even longer beard hairs to be trimmed. The open comb provides a closer shave, but it's easier to cut yourself if you make mistakes with the blade.
Our closed comb shaves very gently and with the closeness typical of a razor, and is also forgiving of mistakes in the razor's handling. It is therefore very safe. However, with longer beard hair (i.e., not a daily shave), you may need to shave twice until you get a perfect shave.
Dr. Dittmar safety razors are double-finished: first nickel-plated, then bright chrome-plated. Production is almost entirely by hand, with each individual piece being polished by hand and then coated. This guarantees the durability of the chrome plating and a perfect shave.
Of course, the comprehensive Dr. Dittmar guarantee applies, which can be summarized briefly:

And this applies to quality defects without time limit. For life.
