Deer horn from the Black Forest and a lot of creative craftsmanship are necessary for the production of this shaving set.
Unfortunately, the deer do not adhere to any guidelines regarding the shape or thickness of their (voluntarily shed) antlers.
Therefore, it is not possible to manufacture industrial mass products from real deer horn.
Although staghorn itself is not uncommon, only a few shaving sets are made from this material, as the craftsmanship is always individual. Each shaving set looks different from the previous one. The appropriate textures of the brush, razor, and razor holder pieces must be selected, and the shapes of the individual pieces are also important. A razor handle that is too thick, for example, will not work well with a brush handle that is too thin.
Since staghorn has a rather porous structure on the inside, metal reinforcements (in our case, of course, chrome-plated brass) are necessary, which must be fitted precisely.
Each piece is a work of art in its own right – individual and, as if it were hand-signed, unique.
It goes without saying that such razors are made with only the highest-quality badger hair available (here, a 22mm ring diameter high-mountain premium silvertip). The razor is available with a Fusion shaving set (shown at an additional cost), Mach3, Contour, or G2 system.
The Dr. Dittmar guarantee also ensures almost unlimited durability for this set.
