Each piece is crafted by hand. Since the buffalo horn used is non-standard, the production of the Little Big Horn plane with its matching plane rest requires a great deal of eye and sensitivity.
Finally, the blade must not touch the planing station and the planer must still rest securely.
The very short handle is particularly popular with experienced planers - but it takes practice to use, especially if you have only used planes with long handles.
The Dr. Dittmar razor head with closed comb allows for a close shave, but is only moderately aggressive, so that even inexperienced users can achieve good results without damaging the skin.

The Little Big Horn is produced in a limited edition of just 30 pieces and is available exclusively with a closed comb. A blade is included.
