Shaving bowl made of cow horn, bright polished, 100mm

Solid handcrafted shaving bowl made of genuine light cow horn.

Highly polished inside and out. Usable depth: approx. 40 mm. Diameter (at the top edge): approx. 100 mm. The shaving bowl itself is made from a single piece of cattle horn. The horn is cut lengthwise, formed into a plate under heat, cut, and then formed into a bowl under heat again. Only large cattle horns are suitable – we primarily use the horn of the African zebu cattle.

The bowl fits perfectly in the hand and allows for comfortable lathering of shaving soap. The horn has been carefully polished and is thus well protected against soap and water by a layer of beeswax. Even moisture left over from the soap will not harm the bowl - however, if the bowl ever needs to be cleaned, you should avoid very hot water, household cleaners, or even putting it in the dishwasher or flash drying it on a radiator or with a hairdryer. Horn has a very pleasant feel - after all, the material comes from the same origin as our skin itself. Each bowl is unique, as the horn always has its own individual grain. The natural material does not release harmful substances and does not react with the shaving soap.
