A handmade luxury chess set with a mahogany frame, a wenge and maple playing surface, and pieces made of water buffalo and Watusi cattle horn. A drawer integrated into the frame provides safe storage for the pieces, which are modeled after French originals.

THE MATERIAL
It all starts with raw horn. Real horn can only be
Handcrafted, as each horn is different.
The tip and base of the horn are not usable.
Tip is too thin and the base of the horn is hollow.
Only the middle part of the horn can be used for making figures

THE FRAMEWORK

parts of the chessboard frame by hand, polishes them, adds
them together and polish them again.
THE CHESSBOARD
32 individual fields of light maple and 32 fields of
Almost black wenge forms the battlefield. The tiles
are individually sawn, sanded, polished several times and then carefully
inserted into the frame by hand.
The outer dimensions of the frame of the chess set are approximately 43 x 43 cm.
The king (the highest piece) is 8.5 cm tall, a pawn measures about 4 cm.
