You don't buy a shoe horn primarily with the intention of passing it on as an inheritance - but this solidly crafted piece has the potential to appear in the inheritance of a currently active taxpayer.
The part that inserts into the shoe is made from water buffalo horn, making it smooth and sturdy. Horn, because it's very similar to skin, has a pleasant feel. Your sock will thank you.
The handle is made from the wood of a walnut tree that once stood in Allershausen, Bavaria. A customer gave the tree to us with the instruction to make something "good" out of it.
The horn spoon and handle are connected by a 7mm thick brass threaded rod. You can see this when you unscrew the handle. There's nothing glued or riveted here.
So, this item is for the man or woman who still appreciates authenticity. Genuine craftsmanship, genuine materials, and genuine attention to detail in handcrafting.
And of course, durability – because this shoehorn is one that won't break easily (original quote from our workshop foreman, who turns and assembles the piece).
