In ancient Egypt, cedar wood was a sought-after building material for numerous temples, palaces and fortresses.
The Egyptians also used cedar oil to embalm their dead. Guaiacol, an active ingredient in the essential oil, is a very good preservative, and the Egyptians believed that the scent of cedar promoted rebirth. Source: Wikipedia
But did the ancient Egyptians also have hair care products made of cedarwood? If not, that would actually be quite surprising.
Combs and brushes made of cedarwood are very easy to work with; the wood is excellent for sawing, sanding, and polishing. It is lightweight yet very warp-resistant, has a beautiful grain, and is quite resistant to moisture.
