In ancient Egypt, cedar wood was a sought-after building material for numerous temples, palaces and fortresses.
The Egyptians also used cedar oil to embalm their dead. Guaiacol, an active ingredient in the essential oil, is a very good preservative, and the Egyptians believed that the scent of cedar promoted rebirth. Source: Wikipedia
But did the ancient Egyptians also have hair care products made of cedarwood? If not, that would actually be quite surprising.
Combs can be perfectly crafted from cedarwood; the wood is excellent for sawing, sanding, and polishing. It is lightweight yet very warp-resistant, has a beautiful grain, and is quite resistant to moisture.
