The water buffalo horn (Bubalus bubalis) has a length of 120 cm.
The water buffalo horn (Bubalus bubalis) has a length of 120 cm or more. Horns of this length are rarely found – a span of 2.5 meters or more is impractical when the stable door is only 2 meters wide.
These horns are suitable for further processing into backings for composite bows, inlay work, and are easy to turn. They can be used to make furniture, as table legs, or simply as wall decorations. They are becoming rarer and more valuable every year. Even in India, the country of origin of these extraordinary pieces, agriculture has increasingly less use for super-wide cattle.
